Figurer la féminité. Narration ou revendication ?
Résumé
Observing women’s contemporary creation in Tunisia led us to note a certain number of issues shared by female visual artists. The representation of the feminine is especially recurrent in the works. Not only do women artists create about other women, they also reveal themselves. Whether femininity is the heart of the content or part of a discourse dealing with the themes, the woman is always present in these works. Our study of different works of art evoking women is organized along three main lines : the woman in traditional society, the woman in search of her identity and the artist’s reflection of herself in self-portraiture. Every woman has her own way of expressing herself, her own generation, and her own artistic universe. Each expresses a moving, imperceptible, and universal femininity.
L’observation des créations féminines contemporaines en Tunisie nous ont amené à constater un certain nombre de questionnements communs chez les plasticiennes. La figure féminine, en particulier, est récurrente dans les œuvres. Les femmes artistes évoquent les autres femmes mais se révèlent aussi elles-mêmes. Que la féminité soit au cœur de l’interrogation plastique ou qu’elle serve un discours périphérique, la femme est présente dans ces œuvres. Organisée selon trois axes précis, cette étude se concentre tour à tour sur des œuvres d’art évoquant la femme dans la société traditionnelle, dans la quête de l’identité ou dans le traitement de leur propre reflet à travers l’autoportrait. Chacune dans son mode d’expression, dans sa génération, dans son univers plastique et sa singularité, elles expriment une féminité mouvante, insaisissable et universelle.
