Méthode optique hybride pour la caractérisation d'un champ d'héliostats dans une installation solaire à concentration

Abstract : In order to promote the energy transition and ensure current and future energy production, the technology of thermodynamic solar power plants is among the most interesting. The installation and maintenance of such devices require being able to characterize, calibrate and adjust the optical elements allowing the collection and concentration of direct solar flux. This study concerns more especially the heliostats of tower power plants, whose proper functioning depends on their correct solar tracking, the alignment of these mirrors and their curvature. This manuscript proposes a study concerning so-called “backward-gazing” methods allowing the detection of surface slope defects of heliostats. First of all, the study concerns the numerical and then experimental optimization of a method using four cameras, for which the development was carried out from previous work. The principle of this method is based on knowing the brightness profile of the Sun, associated with the observation of the heliostat from four points of view. The study then turns to the development and study of two backward-gazing methods using only one camera. The principles of these methods are also based on the knowledge of the solar brightness profile, but differ in the way of reconstructing the surface slopes. Rather than observe the heliostat from multiple points of view, the first of the two new methods uses the natural movement of the Sun to virtually multiply the points of view, while the second uses the multiplication of the measurement points on the surface of the heliostat. The second backward-gazing method with one camera is then applied to experimental data, obtained during the measurement campaigns. The sources of error are identified and theimprovements to be made are proposed at the end of this manuscript, in the perspective of an industrial scale development.
