About some theatrical forms of poetry
De quelques formes théâtrales de la poésie
Résumé
Contemporary theatrical writing, by shifting its aesthetic aims from the dramatic project to the poetic project, strives to bring to light the “theatricality that brews in language” (H. Meschonnic) by taking advantage of the hybrid nature of this art written to be said and seen. In the three exemplary plays, we analyze the different paths taken by poetry to illuminate the process of the emerging speech. In doing so, we particularly explore the dialogical component, the work of orality and the various means of textual spatialization. Thus, by broadening the uses of language, contemporary theater may renew our perspective of the language.
Les écritures théâtrales contemporaines, en déplaçant leurs finalités esthétiques du projet dramatique au projet poétique, s’efforcent de mettre au jour la « théâtralité qui couve dans le langage » (H. Meschonnic), en profitant de la nature ambivalente de cet art écrit pour être dit et vu. Dans trois pièces exemplaires, nous analysons les différents chemins empruntés par la poésie pour éclairer le processus de la parole en émergence. Ce faisant, nous explorons tout particulièrement la composante dialogique, le travail de l’oralité et les divers moyens de spatialisation textuelle. En donnant du jeu à la langue, le théâtre contemporain renouvelle le regard porté sur la langue.
