The length-weight relationships of three sharks and five batoids in the Lebanese marine waters, eastern Mediterranean.

Abstract

Length-weight relationships were estimated for 8 elasmobranchs (3 sharks and 5 batoids) in the Lebanese marine waters, eastern Mediterranean. The values of parameter b ranged between 1.752±0.4508 and 3.337±0.2321. Sex influenced the length-weight relationships for the shark Centrophorus uyato (Rafinesque 1801) and the batoid Torpedo marmorata (Risso 1810). These relationships should be used only with the observed length ranges.
